Important Announcement from Jim Chitwood:

Many of you may have already heard the news that the time has finally arrived for the “changing of the guard” at the Trust. After 34 years, retirement has finally arrived and it is time for me to step aside as the Executive Director and turn the operations over to the Assistant Director, Marilyn Barnes. Marilyn will become the Executive Director effective July 1, 2010. Marilyn steps into this position bringing with her years of experience and great credentials. She has been with the Trust for over 23 years and has a lot of experience in all areas of the Trust’s operations. She has been and will continue to be a great asset to the Trust.

This is somewhat of a bitter-sweet announcement. My wife and I are excited about joining the ranks of the retirees, while on the other hand, I will miss all of the great people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with throughout my career. It has been a very rewarding, gratifying and humbling experience that has been filled with a lifetime of memories. Many thanks to all of you for your help, patience and understanding throughout the years. Here’s to safe travels and good health to all!

Important Network News! You may have a new preferred provider organization

To help you better manage health care costs while providing outstanding access to quality health care, the Trust has chosen the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Options network as your preferred provider organization (PPO).

The UHC Options PPO network replaces the MultiPlan and Sagamore network and will serve as your primary network. You will also notice a new name and look on your member I.D. card. UMR has replaced Fiserv Health.

You should have received a letter with your new UHC Options network I.D. card in May. Please destroy your Fiserv Health or Sagamore PPO member I.D. card and replace it with the one you received in the mail.

If you have questions about the new network or your health plan please call customer service at 1-888-263-9613.
This number is also on the back of your new I.D. card.

If your provider was MultiPlan or Sagamore and you did not receive a letter with your new card in the mail, please call the Trust office
at 239-936-6242.

First Health Network for non-Medicare Participants

Great News! Effective October 1, 2009, the Trust has contracted with First Health Network. First Health is a network of medical providers who agree to offer their services at a discount. This discount applies to services rendered on or after October 1, 2009. This new network is only available to participants who are not yet eligible for Medicare and who are not currently enrolled in the Trust’s PPO option (Highmark or UMR).

Please Note:

A. If you have a question regarding your pension, please contact your former employer.

B. If you are eligible for ANY part of Medicare, you are not eligible for the PPO option of coverage and you must notify the Trust immediately.
